If you have tickets to one of the six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in Toronto and you’re planning to drive yourself — this article could save your entire match day experience.

The City of Toronto has officially confirmed: there is zero public parking at Toronto Stadium, Exhibition Place, or in any surrounding neighbourhood including Liberty Village and Fort York on match days.

Not limited parking. Not expensive parking. Zero parking.

Here is everything you need to know about getting to Toronto Stadium for FIFA 2026 — and what thousands of smart fans are already doing instead.

The Parking Situation at Toronto Stadium: What the City Actually Said

In its official FIFA World Cup 2026 Mobility Plan, the City of Toronto confirmed that no public parking will be available at or near Exhibition Place during any of the six match days. This covers Toronto Stadium, Liberty Village, Fort York, and the entire surrounding waterfront area.

The only parking that exists is a small number of pre-purchased hospitality passes sold through FIFA’s official partner JustPark — exclusively for ticket holders who bought hospitality packages. Even those are extremely limited, one pass per customer per match, and must be purchased using the same email as your match ticket.

If you did not purchase a hospitality package, there is no parking option available to you anywhere near the stadium on match day.

What About Uber and Lyft?

This is the question we hear most from fans planning their match day transport. The short answer: Uber and Lyft will be available, but you are going to pay a significant premium and wait a long time.

With 45,736 fans exiting Toronto Stadium simultaneously after the final whistle — all reaching for their phones to request a ride at the exact same moment — surge pricing is inevitable. Multiple sources confirm rideshare apps will surge to 2x to 3x normal fares on every FIFA match day in Toronto.

Beyond the cost, wait times after the final whistle are expected to exceed 45 minutes in many cases. Road closures on Lake Shore Boulevard West, Dufferin Street south of Springhurst Avenue, and Liberty Village local access restrictions mean rideshare vehicles cannot access many of the routes fans expect. Drop-off and pick-up zones for vehicles-for-hire are restricted to designated areas outside the restricted zones — meaning your Uber is not meeting you at the stadium gate.

For the Canada vs Bosnia & Herzegovina opening match on June 12, which has the highest attendance demand of any Toronto match, rideshare conditions are expected to be especially chaotic.

The Six Toronto FIFA Matches

Toronto is hosting six matches at Toronto Stadium (Exhibition Place, 170 Princes Boulevard) between June 12 and July 2, 2026:

Every single one of these match days will have the same parking restrictions and the same rideshare surge conditions in effect.

What Public Transit Options Exist?

The TTC and GO Transit are both running enhanced service for FIFA match days, and for many fans this is a perfectly good option.

The TTC is running increased frequency on Line 1 and Line 2, with bus and streetcar connections to Exhibition Place via the 509 Harbourfront streetcar, 511 Bathurst streetcar, and 29 Dufferin bus. Subway service is extended to operate later on match nights.

GO Transit is running trains approximately every 15 minutes on the Lakeshore West and Lakeshore East lines, with the last trains departing Union Station around 12:47 AM and 12:50 AM respectively after evening matches. Exhibition GO Station puts you steps from the stadium.

For fans travelling from downtown Toronto or using GO Transit from the east or west, public transit is a solid choice. For fans travelling from Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, or other GTA communities, transit connections are more complicated and time-consuming.

What Smart Fans Are Actually Doing: Pre-Booked Limo Service

The most stress-free option for getting to and from Toronto Stadium on FIFA match days — especially for fans travelling from across the GTA — is pre-booking a private limo or chauffeur service at a locked flat rate.

Here is why this approach works so well for FIFA:

Your rate is locked when you book. No surge pricing, no price increase on the day, no surprise charges. The flat rate you agree to when you book is exactly what you pay.

Your chauffeur monitors the match in real time. If your game goes to extra time or penalties, your driver adjusts automatically. You are not competing with 45,000 fans to hail a ride after the whistle.

Pick-up from your front door. No transit connections, no parking at a remote station, no walking. Your chauffeur comes directly to your home or hotel address anywhere across the GTA.

Drop-off at the correct vehicle-for-hire zone. Professional chauffeurs know every designated drop-off point closest to your specific stadium entrance, navigating all road closures automatically.

Return trip is already confirmed. Your post-match ride is pre-booked at the same flat rate. While Uber is surging 3x outside the stadium, your driver is already waiting at your agreed pick-up point.
